At the latest Team Hereford meeting, Hereford BID were able to discuss key updates and information for the festive period from West Mercia Police.
Marketing and Business Security Executive for Hereford BID, Abigail Lording, was pleased to confirm that there will be an increase in police visibility in the city centre during the festive period, as student officers join the Safer Neighbourhood Teams for training placements.
As part of their training, all new student officers must undertake placements within different roles of the police force, including an attachment with the Safer Neighbourhood Teams. This means that for a 10-week period, the Hereford City Team will regularly have additional two student officers joining them, allowing them to increase their visibility within the city centre.
Abigail says, ‘in the lead up to the festive period retailers frequently see an increase in theft, so, with businesses set to reopen following lockdown, this news comes at an opportune time for Hereford’s shops.’
West Mercia Police ask that businesses please report any incidents via 101.
Team Hereford is a platform for businesses to discuss the things that concerns them in Hereford and is ed by the Hereford BID and run in partnership with Vennture, the police, CCTV, the Old Market and many shops. Team Hereford meetings are held every Tuesday.
In addition to being part of Team Hereford, there are also two great platforms in place to support retailers in the city; Retail Radio and the DISC app, which is free for BID businesses.
