Hereford BID is proud to represent over 500 levy-paying businesses within Hereford, with the goal of enhancing, developing and promoting the city for the benefit of our members and anyone who lives in or visits Hereford. The BID is run by its members for its members, with a board of directors made up of volunteers representing the breadth of businesses in the BID area.
To ensure that the BID Board of Directors remains representative, policy dictates that 1/3 of Directors (equating to 4 people) must step down each year, although these Directors may immediately register their interest to stand again. As such, Hereford BID is looking for levy payers who may interested in taking on the role of Director to get in touch.
The first year of our second term has seen a challenging time for the city and our businesses but we are still working hard to deliver the objectives set out in our business plan and support our members. As such, this is a crucial period for businesses as we look toward the future, making this an opportune time to get involved with the Hereford BID as a new board member and represent the views and needs of your sector.
The following sectors are available for representation:
- Independent Retail (two positions available)
- National Retail (one position available)
- Office & Professional (one position available)
- Property Owner (one position available)
All Directors are expected to attend 6 meetings per year as well as occasional events. Directors must represent and seek the views of their sector, an essential aspect that helps ensure that the board and BID team are informed of emerging and existing issues.
Hereford BID’s Board of Directors play an essential role in the running of the organisation. Their experience and knowledge of the City is essential in helping direct the Hereford BID team in the delivery of the business plan.

Elections for new board members will begin on approximately 15th February and run until the 28th February. Each levy-paying business has one vote, which can be cast by emailing the voting form (available soon) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
