Christmas in Hereford - Plans for 2020

There have had to be some significant changes to our usual festive activities this year, but the Hereford BID are still working hard to bring some well-needed holiday cheer to the city and businesses this Christmas.

Late-night shopping and free parking from 4pm will be returning, starting on Wednesday November 25th and running every Wednesday until 23rd December. We’re also pleased to confirm the return of our successful Christmas Window Competition, as well as some great new activities designed to bring visitors and shoppers to the city centre. Hereford BID will also be providing extra Christmas trees around the city, including a large feature Christmas Tree at the top of King Street.

The Christmas Window Competition will follow the same format as last year, with an initial public vote on the Hereford City Life Facebook page followed by a judging panel’s vote to decide the winner and runners up from both Independent and National stores.

Alongside this, Hereford BID will be creating a series of trails on the LoyalFree app, to highlight festive offerings from retail and hospitality businesses. These will include a ‘Festive Feasting’ trail and a new one-day interactive trail called ‘Samples Saturday’. Whether you’re already on the app or not, it’s a great tool for sharing any festive offers and rewarding loyal customers. Don’t forget, the LoyalFree app is free for BID members.

We will be using the city’s lifestyle brand, Hereford City Life, to promote and support these activities and the businesses taking part. There will be articles on the Hereford City Life website and plenty of social media promotion on Facebook and Instagram.

The BID team are starting to visit businesses to discuss taking part in these Christmas activities but to ensure you don’t miss out, get in touch via email to register your interest today.
