A new grant scheme opens 9am, Wednesday 14th October to help small businesses who have suffered from the pandemic across Herefordshire. It closes 9pm Thursday 15 October 2020 BUT apply immediately on opening to stand a chance of succeeding.
We are expect the fund to be exhausted within 2 hours due to high demand (our best guess), so, please be quick and be ready with the answers - we suggest you have them written in a word document so you can cut and paste where appropriate.
What Is It?
Grants of between £1,000 and £3,000 are available through the Marches Small Business Recovery Grant, which will help both tourism businesses and those in the wider economy.
Only small businesses with up to ten full-time equivalent employees and who can demonstrate a negative impact due to the coronavirus crisis are able to apply.
Who is Eligible?
Your Business MUST meet all of the criteria below:
- Located in Herefordshire, Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin
- Trading for 12 months or more (and be reliant on visitors if a tourism business)
- Able to demonstrate an adverse effect from Covid-19 e.g. drop in sales/visitor numbers
- Employ fewer than 10 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
What Can I use the Money for?
The grants will be available for projects running between November and January. Costs can cover specialist advice – including HR, accountancy, legal, financial, health and safety, IT/digital and sector-related consultancy – and/or equipment to address immediate needs in response to Covid-19.
What Should I do to Prepare?
Preparation is critical - click on the links below for further information and write down before Wednesday the answers. If you are buying equipment or services, it is critical to obtain in advance 2 written quotes from alternative suppliers dated 6th October or greater - these will need to be uploaded when the fund opens, assuming you qualify. If the quote is from a website be sure to capture supplier name, cost, date screen grab taken etc.
